Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Nedbank External Bursary Programme 2026, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have achieved a minimum average of 65% in your latest academic results.
  • Intend to study or be studying full-time at a public university or university of technology in South Africa.
  • Be pursuing an undergraduate or honours degree in STEM or Green Economy fields.
  • Demonstrate financial need through household income verification.
  • Have completed Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) at school level.

Required Supporting Documents

Applicants must upload certified and up-to-date documents, including:

  • South African ID copy
  • Final Grade 11 and current Grade 12 mid-year results (if in matric)
  • Most recent academic transcript (if in university)
  • Proof of acceptance or provisional admission at a university
  • Financial check affidavit signed by applicant and guardians
  • Latest 3 months’ bank statements for parents or guardians
  • Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ IDs, payslips, or proof of income
  • IRP5/IT3/IT12 tax forms (if applicable)

Incomplete or illegible applications will not be considered.
